Research and Innovation Work Group – SEND

The work group is aimed at colleagues in either primary or SEND settings who wish to identify and utilise mastery strategies to engage their SEND learners. The work group will focus on effective mastery pedagogies and gap tasks to support the positive engagement of pupils who have an associated profile of ASD, SEMH, Communication, Sensory or MLD/SLD.

The work group participants will explore and apply effective pedagogies associated to specific profiles. Participants will be expected to embed or support the implementation of these pedagogies within their school or setting with the associated SEN pupils.

The ongoing impact of the coronavirus outbreak and knock on effects on schools life remain uncertain. So, all Maths Hubs work will adapt to changing realities. There’s likely to be more live online collaboration, for example. In addition Work Groups content will address both schools recovery from coronavirus related disruption and the central maths subject matter of each project.
